We had a GREAT yard sale this last weekend. We were the busiest we have ever been. We were steadily busy (with a LINE of customers with hands/arms full of stuff until around eleven and we opened at seven). The funny thing was that we had people show up a little after five and at six thirty there was probably twenty people lined up waiting. You could see them scoping out what they were "running for". HA! I am thankful we got rid of so much stuff. We now have a very clean garage that is organized. Too bad we aren't going to enjoy that for much longer. We are moving in with my parents in the next week and a half. Our floor plans should be finalized and done within the next couple of days and then we begin the whole process. We have to get bids first and go from there. I am SO excited and nervous. It is such a huge responsibility but we have waited so long for this it will be well worth it. Once I get the floor plans back I will try to give you more specifics.
I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do the kids' rooms in. I have been looking at some sets in Pottery Barn but I am still having trouble with Colton's room. There really is such a little selection for boys! I will have no problem with the girls' stuff but need a little help with my boy's! So any suggestions?
Today is Fun Day at the kids' school. The sad thing is that it is raining right now. Ugh! I hope it stops for them. I know they might not care but knowing Sydney she will :) Then she goes half day and they are out for the summer. I am really looking forward to this summer. I LOVE the no schedule thing in the morning. I have to wake Sydney up and it will be nice not to have to do that and just keep working so I can be done by mid-morning. Jen and I have decided on some fun things to do with the kids to help keep them/ourselves busy :) I am putting the kids in swim lessons and Sydney is going to a soccer camp. Trips to the library, picnics to schools to play on the playground equipment, trips to Ron's ice cream (a place that has awesome ice cream cones that are huge for only a little over a dollar), these are the kinds of things I want to do. I have already been stocking up on some stuff too. I also bought the kids the sprinkler that is in the shape of a beach ball and they played in it the other day. They loved it! I have otter pops in the freezer, plastic EVERYTHING and lots of sunscreen. I also bought the melamine sectioned plates that are a knock off from Pottery Barn. I have had the trays I bought at Walmart and they have worked fine but they take up a lot of room and I liked these other ones better. So I will be getting rid of the other trays. One other thing I am really looking forward to is the fruit stands. I love going and getting fresh fruit/produce. I go every week and the kids love it too. I am so glad my kids like to eat that kind of stuff.
One more thing, on a recent trip to target I walked out with this stuff: melamine plates, new *cute* nightgown, overnight bag for Dusty, awesome buckets in the dollar section that are actually good size, navy pails for 4th of July along with red plastic baskets to put the kids food in, decorative headbands for pics for the 4th, new pacifiers for Colton, booster seat (because of the new booster seat laws we needed another for carpooling) and road trip bingo with a travel journal for Syd. I stock up on stuff for the road well before we leave for the beach. It can be a LONG drive with four kids!! Sounds fun huh? I mostly went to get stuff for the 4th. We are going to decorate and have a festive and fun 4th this year. It should be fun. I am so excited and cannot wait. I am really looking forward to a break :)
p.s. this post is a bunch of rambling. sorry if it makes no sense to you. it is five thirty in the morning!
