Count your blessings

A big step

Sydney made a big step this weekend.  It took some work and tears but she held a new baby kitten.  We felt it was important for her to hold it so she can learn to work through her fear of animals.  She gave us a hug afterwards and said she was glad we made her do it.  She now is asking if she can have it!!  We are soo proud of her.

One funny story to add to this....Gracie and Audrey were watching Miss Patty Cake and she was singing - He's got the whole world in his hands, he's got the whole world...you get the idea.  So Dusty and I hear Gracie singing - He's got the whole booty in his hands, the whole booty in his hands...then she bends slightly over with her rear in Audrey's face and says you can spank it Audrey, all the while shaking it.  We could not stop laughing.  That is our little Gracie!

I am so thankful for...

.... my husband!  He has been so patient with me and how I have been feeling during the first part of this pregnancy.  I really realized how much he is a comfort to me when he was gone the end of last week.  I really missed him!  I just wanted to post this so he knows how much I love him, respect him and appreciate him.  I love you baby!

Inspired

I have been looking at some blogs lately and trying to get some good ideas to get me inspired to start scrapbooking again.  It feels like I have to "start back up" since it has been so long.  I really have missed doing it and I have the perfect room to set up for it.  It has a door so I can actually leave my stuff out and not worry about the kids getting into it.  Well at least I hope so :)  I keep telling myself, it will be easier once we are in our new house and I have everything set up.  That is because here at the place we are renting I have not even hung pictures and I do not plan to.  We hopefully will soon be starting our house and I do not really care about how this house looks, as long as its clean.  Hope that doesn't sound too bad?!  I am off to get some work done so maybe later I can work on my little "scrap room" to get it set up!

Good things

Today I am thankful for some little things already.  Here are a few. 

Lipton's tea (hot) with sugar and milk.  Just the way my mom used to make it for me.

Having my house picked up before I took Sydney to school even after making her bacon and eggs for breakfast.

The girls allowing me to get a little typing (work) done.

My wonderful mother-in-law doing some of my laundry.  It is SUCH a blessing.  She does this every week!!

Gracie playing "holly" pockets as she calls it on the coffee table so sweetly.

Just a few for right now.  Thought I would share while I still remember.  You know what pregnancy does to your memory!!!  Or wait is that just three kids with one on the way?

Our own little miracle

Given by God of course.  Today I got a phone call from the doctors in Portland and they said all the tests but one had come back.  We are still waiting on one test but as far as the others, they all came back "essentially normal".  What a blessing.  It still brings tears to my eyes talking about it.  I have never felt more at peace with God and his will and I really do believe he performed a miracle in Audrey.  Not to say we are totally out of the woods but I am at peace with that.  That is a miracle itself too!  There is one small abnormality so they will run another urine test but all the other tests regarding her bones, etc are all normal!  Praise God!!  What a blessing.  We are so blessed and we could not be any more thankful.  She has been walking around the living room today by herself and she is ready to move!!  I just can't tell you how I feel right now.  I guess overwhelmed by God's great power!!

God is there

God totally takes care of me and I got a great reminder this morning!  My cleaning lady (Joan, also a family friend so no disrespect when I say cleaning lady :) called and said she is going to start tomorrow morning and clean every other Tuesday!  I am so excited because with working from home, therapy and all the other things going on, I don't have the energy and time to do it.  I love a clean house and I can't wait for the help!  I am so thankful for God's timing!!

I remember singing this song with Chrisanna and laughing so hard because she would do all these different voices and I would repeat her.  Super funny.  I did this with Gracie and Audrey and they both laughed really hard.  It was so fun.  I know they think I am nuts sometimes.  :)  I think we learned it from our old neighbors Jackie and Andy.  Loved them.  They were so much fun!!  I had to share this before I forgot.  Off to take Syd to school!

Unmistakably you

I was talking to Jen today about how you see something and you totally think of one of your kids.  They each are so different and have their own unique personality.  I love that.  I bought Gracie a swimsuit today that is bright yellow and is a board shirt and shorts style swimsuit.  Soo cute and so Gracie.  Then we were driving home from aunt Jen's and she wanted her window rolled all the way down.  It was really funny because her hair was totally in her face and she kept closing her eyes because it was so windy with the window all the way down.  But she loves it.  She is such a wild one!  Earlier I had gone shopping for some things at Old Navy (thanks Jen) and got Syd some much needed spring clothes for school.  I can pick things out I know she will absolutely love and things I think are cute but she will never wear.  Like the color pink for example.  It totally depends on the color and style, but if it was green she will practically wear anything!  She is my thinker.  She is sensitive too.  Then there is Audrey who right now I can't tell what she is going to be like!  One day she is sweet, the next ornery.  We will see....But I have learned that when it comes to my kids, I help build on their strengths and weaknesses.  I encourage them with their weaknesses and praise their strengths.  I have learned this the most with Sydney!  She is my emotional challenge and Gracie my physical challenge!  Who knows with the baby to come?!   

Life is good

I have had a few hard weeks.  I have not been feeling well, not able to get things done and felt completely unsuccessful.  So I heard something that caught my attention and felt like God was giving me just what I needed....a little reminder.  So I thought I would share!

Life is good.......what does that mean?  I thought about it and really tried to put into words what is most important to me.  I put my emphasis on happiness and peace.  I get those a number of ways, through my relationship through Christ first and foremost and through my family.  That is what is most important to me.  It is easy to get discouraged and that is when I need to realize being discouraged is only a hinderance to my happiness and peace.  I want to put my effort into loving my family and growing into a better person.  I will let this serve as a reminder to myself :)
